Don’t call it Jersey Shore for the startup community: Startup Beach House. According to Sue Spolan, Municibid co-founder Greg Barry, who is leading the party, says that 15 people will live together to build startups at a Jersey shore home in August. Signup to hear more. The Inquirer writes an inspiring story about Metropolitan Communication’s Dale Petrovitch, who is handing over the company that he took over from his father by giving its 30 employees ownership of the company. All employees have a financial stake in it, and after debt is paid off, will be entitled to receive payment for their shares.

Temple University is partnering with the Science Center to provide space for students with startups that need office space and support, according to a press release.

The Economist Group, which publishes The Economist, has integrated ElectNext into its Electionism app, a 2012 election coverage app built in HTML5. See AdWeek’s coverage of the announcement here.

Philadelphia Business Journal has coverage of the 2012 Phorum Cloud Computing Conference Demo Pit, which will give 15 startup companies the chance to show off their products. Technically Philly announced last week that it is a media sponsor of the event.

Hire An Esquire now has 425 freelance attorneys in its online directory and is hiring at least one permanent attorney for the service, according to an email newsletter.

VirtualPiggy, a moderated online bank account for parents to provide their children, has announced that it has added McGeary Snider to the company’s advisory board. Snider served previously as an advisor to the Arts and Culture to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Last week, the company announced that Founder and Chairman Dr. Jo Webber was made the company’s CEO.

Viddler has added functionality for brands to turn off advertising pre-rolls on videos that they want to exclude from that process, like videos that land on homepages.
