Like most founders, Mary Hagy says her company is creating the product that she needed months ago.
Born out of her frustrations with the level of video advertising analytics when she was an executive director of an online video campaign in 2009, Hagy says she thinks there’s an opportunity for a company that can take video analytics past the “views” metric.
Along with Jodie Morgan and Karen Narwold, Hagy founded Queen Village-based cWyze to add a layer of user interactions on top of videos to help provide additional metrics for video campaigns. Companies like Hulu have long been experimenting with similar features, but cWyze hopes to take that to the next level.
[Full Disclosure: cWyze will be demoing at Technically Philly’s Switch event on April 26, a part of Philly Tech WeekTickets are available here.]
Right now, Hagy says cWyze is shooting for a more public release in Early June, nearly a year after the company was originally founded with an angel investment from Rick O’Brien and former Philadelphia mayoral candidate Sam Katz (who has his own video ambitions).
“We’re putting the app through a rigorous proof of concept,” she wrote in an email to Technically Philly, “With that success, we’ll welcome clients.”
High on the feature list is completing the analytics dashboard where brands will be able to see the success of their campaigns through a handful of video overlay tools:
The Quiz

The slider

Product purchases

Coupons

Each feature will transparently collect data from the user to help the advertiser change the campaign on the fly while learning a little more about its target customer.
As for the future, Hagy says the company may open an office in New York City and is looking to hire.
