Rich Sedmak is an entrepreneur and education reformer.  At the age of fifteen, Rich started an electronics liquidation business out of his parents’ home.  This experience opened up the world of autodidactism to him, and over the last ten years he has founded, invested in, and advised numerous early stage technology companies.

Currently, Rich is the co-founder of Startup Corps.  Startup Corps believes that a great education should inspire a love of continuous learning and instill in each student the ability to deal with a world filled with uncertainty.  Startup Corps has built an educational experience for high school students in Philadelphia that is personalized, inquiry based, action-focused and 21st century relevant. Still in “beta”, Startup Corps has worked with over 200 students, and over 200 area entrepreneurs and educators to bring to market an exciting new approach for empowering the next generation of Philadelphians.

In addition, Rich has served as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) at Wharton, and is currently a board member of several non-profits.

He is an avid collector (and reader) of rare business books, both new and old.

Rich and his wife Rebecca reside in Chestnut Hill in northwest Philadelphia.
