Dianah Neff was named in 2001 the Chief Information Officer under Philadelphia Mayor John F. Street. She left a role in San Diego to lead several high-profile IT infrastructure efforts at the city, including the aborted Wireless Philadelphia effort to offer wireless web access citywide.
In August 2006, Neff left her post for a role with a private broadband consulting firm that had done work with the City of Philadelphia. She later returned to civil service.
