Filmbot’s purpose becomes clear

Filmbot launches just in time for a Bushwick Film Festival event.

We’ve been checking in on Filmbot since it popped up in a March Startup Roundup. Now its purpose has become clear, thanks to an event in the Bushwick Film Festival, which kicked off yesterday.

Filmbot is an app for keeping track of movies you’d like to see.

It can also tell you which of your friends liked them and/or wanted to see them and it lets you know when movies you missed in theaters are available on other services. It appears that you need to have Filmbot text you a link to download it, however.

Its founder, Max Friend, will be speaking at the festival’s New Media Day tomorrow, Oct. 4.
