OverviewUrban Outfitters Inc.’s Engineering team is looking for a Mobile QA Engineer to be based in the Philadelphia Navy Yard at our URBN Headquarters. This Engineer will lead, review and participate in development testing activities relating to the development of the next generation of the Urban Outfitter’s, Free People’s & Anthropologies mobile applications. As part of a cross-functional agile team, you will utilize the latest mobile technologies and testing tools to ensure the team continuously releases quality functionality to URBN’s mobile application suite.

 

Responsibilities
  • Produce effective and creative software test plans and cases
  • Create and maintain automated testing framework and scripts (Swift, Kotlin, Java)
  • Collaborate with QA and cross functional team members on all project related testing
  • Perform exploratory testing during iterations, identify and perform regression tests, and write automated tests
  • Provide feedback on the various testing results and assist in shaping release efforts that support various business initiatives
  • Participate in agile team practices
Job Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from senior management to associate level
  • Solid understanding of build tools and software configuration management standards (Jenkins)
  • Working knowledge writing and executing automated tests
Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Experience working in a tech-focused QA environment
  • Experience with Swift and/or Kotlin
  • Experience working with RESTful web services
  • Experience using mobile IDEs (Xcode, Android Studio) to build and debug apps
  • Detailed knowledge of the iOS / Android platforms & their design guidelines
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn
  • Working knowledge of retail, online commerce
  • Proven success working in Agile software development methodologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple prioritiese root cause
EducationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field OR Completed Coding Bootcamp

Yen Duong, Software Engineer at URBN: One of the best things is that most of us are customers of the brands we work on. As a user of my product, it’s easy to understand the feedback we get from customers and the problems we need to solve.

No day is the same. We deploy new code every week. There are always new challenges and we’re allowed to research and introduce new technologies.

Carolina Fojo, UX Research Manager at URBN: Research is such a strategic place to be at URBN. We’re constantly thinking about our customers and the growth opportunities. There’s no end in sight when you’re dealing with millions of customers. The opportunities are endless, which is really exciting.
