As part of the Microsoft Team the Systems Engineer will work with a team of other engineers responsible for the maintenance, support, and implementation of URBN’s Microsoft infrastructure and associated technologies on premise, in the cloud, and in the hands of URBN’s functionally and geographically diverse business groups.


Key Skills

  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical groups.
  • Good general understanding of IT security practices.
  • Good understanding of creating resilient & highly available infrastructure.
  • Experience administering Office 365.
  • Experience administering Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience automating processes and working with scripts.
  • Experience deploying and managing Windows 10 devices.


Required Experience

  • At least 3 years of related experience.
  • At least 1 year administering Microsoft server, desktop, and O365 infrastructure.



  • Build and maintain the systems required to deploy Windows 10 devices to local and remote employees.
  • Deploy settings, updates, and new applications to Windows 10 devices enterprise wide.
  • Develop documentation to support both technical and non-technical groups.
  • Administer Windows Server infrastructure, and work with vendors and application teams to troubleshoot issues.
  • Administer Active Directory infrastructure including managing groups, users, computers, and group policy.
  • Administer the Office 365 and Azure Active Directory cloud environments including mailboxes, SharePoint sites, and authentication systems.
  • Assist in administration of management solutions for non-Windows devices including Android, iOS, and ChromeOS.
  • Identify recurring or potential issues and propose and execute solutions to address them.
  • Work closely with Information Security team to respond to new threats and implement security best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotation up to 1 week per month.
  • Provide a high level of support for escalations from helpdesk and system administrator teams.

Yen Duong, Software Engineer at URBN: One of the best things is that most of us are customers of the brands we work on. As a user of my product, it’s easy to understand the feedback we get from customers and the problems we need to solve.

No day is the same. We deploy new code every week. There are always new challenges and we’re allowed to research and introduce new technologies.

Carolina Fojo, UX Research Manager at URBN: Research is such a strategic place to be at URBN. We’re constantly thinking about our customers and the growth opportunities. There’s no end in sight when you’re dealing with millions of customers. The opportunities are endless, which is really exciting.
