Role Overview

We’re a recently founded, well-funded startup looking to add to our team with a collaborative, creative front end developer. This is a full-time role. We would be open to a full time hire or a contract situation if appropriate. At this stage we all work remotely, but we all live in and around the Philadelphia area and get together periodically. It’s nice if you’re local to meet up from time to time, but it’s not a deal breaker. We have a scheduled call daily and collaborate throughout the day through Slack, Hangouts, etc.

Who we are

We are founded by successful entrepreneurs who have been through the startup experience before and brought a company from incubation to substantial exit. That experience highlighted the inefficiencies, confusion, and high costs associated with managing all the critical information required to build a great company. So we decided to make it easier. We are building an intelligent platform to simplify and automate the tedious and complex management of critical information faced by founders raising money, hiring teams, protecting intellectual property, partnering, and more. Our product is currently being tested with some select users and our goal is to launch publicly by the end of the year.

Who you are

You’re an entry-level or mid-level frontend UI developer with lots of will to learn, adapt, and grow as we iterate and solve new problems in new ways. You’re not the type of person who needs every requirement and detail spelled out because you can understand the user experience and help us get there. You’ll be working from designs in Sketch, so you’ll need to be able to create the experience with precision, but you’ll also need to keep your eyes on the big picture so you can help to spot ways we can get better. You’re a person with ideas and opinions, but you know how to deliver them in a collaborative and constructive way. You don’t have an ego or feel the need to be “right”. You understand we are changing and adapting all the time and that we’re all in this together to make the best product and experience possible.

The Details

Must have:

  • Strong HTML, CSS, and JS – This one is obvious, but might as well spell it out
  • Ability to understand and work seamlessly with backend developers – Strong partnership and understanding between front end and back end is key.
  • Communication and collaboration skills – remote work means communication and collaboration are even more important when working together in an office isn’t always possible.
  • Experience building complex, modern web interfaces ideally using Angular
  • A good understanding of Git since we use it for source control
  • Expertise in web development – you can bring best practices and ideas for performance, new technologies, integrations, and make recommendations along the way

Pay – We’re open to discussing compensation depending on how we end up working together, experience, etc, but know that we’re committed to fair and competitive compensation.

Our stack is based on a server-less architecture using Angular 7 for the front end, Postgres for database, and a combination of AWS services including Lambda, API gateway, Cognito and others.
