The Sr. Associate, Alternate Channels role will be responsible for ensuring that our alternate sales channel (commercial, MDU, dealers, brokers, concierge services) runs smoothly and efficiently on a day-to-day basis. This person will maintain communication with key sales contacts across the channel. This role will be extremely detail-oriented and a fluid communicator, as you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with sales teams across the midwest and northeast. This role should be passionate about their career, motivated, and has a genuine interest in performance management, individual growth, and building sales relationships. This candidate will have a strong drive to evolve and execute sales processes, handle reporting needs, and support effective communication with sales teams. 


  1. Relationship Building and Management: Provide direct support to sales managers in the field as needed with information about the company’s products or questions about sales practices and policies.
  2. Creating an Engaging Partner Experience: Consistently visit offices to build excitement about Inspire by interacting with sales reps and building strong relationship managers that can be leveraged for optimal performance and organizational needs
  3. Driving a World-Class Customer Experience: Effectively work with Sales Quality Team on any coaching and/or corrective measures required that have resulted from customer feedback or complaints
  4. Analyze and Drive Solutions: Consistently monitor sales performance dashboards and effectively communicate with sales leadership if/when/what measures should be taken in order to drive growth and higher KPI attainment
  5. Design the New Office Experience: Support the growth and launches of new sales offices and agents
  6. Be a Voice of the Channel and Customer: Influence Sales and Marketing initiatives by providing insightful and consistent customer and sales rep feedback around processes, strategies, and opportunities


  • Oversight over all apparel, collateral, and tablet inventory management including ordering, inventory tracking and adherence to ensure efficient cost allocation within the channel. Will be responsible in building out consistent monthly inventory reporting to be able to share with external partners and key internal stakeholders
  • Structuring and implementing a revamped partner engagement/recognition program that incentivizes high performance from managers and reps
  • Building and launching an effective new manager onboarding experience to ensure quick ramp time and an ideal understanding of the Inspire core values, vision and processes 
  • Enforcing a weekly touchpoint matrix for all sales managers that are not reaching ideal performance that includes review of sales, recruiting, and KPI performance results


  • 100% of new vendors exceeding weekly sales targets within their first 30 days of opening

  • Must Have
    • 2-4 years of relevant sales experience
    • Detail-oriented, analytical, and avid problem solver
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, relationships and tasks with urgency
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, a true team player
    • Passionate about sales marketing and communication
    • Willing to travel up to 50% of the month to maintain partner relations 
  • Nice to Have
    • BA or BS from a college or university
    • Experience as a sales representative in a direct sales setting

What are some examples of projects Inspire employees are working on?

Everyone is or becomes a full-stack developer. The company is very product-focused. Technologists are tasked with developing next generation consumer products that are easy to use and help members better understand their energy consumption. The team is currently working on Inspire’s consumer technology platform, which is written with a mix of Ruby and Angular 2, and using Ionic to create native mobile apps. Inspire’s tech team is constantly unlocking data that helps members optimize their energy usage, increase their home's value and decrease their carbon footprint.

How does Inspire encourage learning on the job?

Developers at Inspire love technology and are driven by their curiosity. It’s not a requirement to be an expert in the languages and tools we use, but it is a requirement to strive to get better at technology every day. At Inspire, coders get to learn and work with new technologies throughout the stack, whether it’s on the front-end, building API’s or working with our data scientists.

Outside of the office, engineers are given the chance to bond and develop their skills at a yearly hack-a-thon in Vermont. Some have even had the chance to spread Inspire’s mission globally. Through a trip to Colombia, a handful of Avengers paired up with a nonprofit, GivePower, to set up solar panels to help people in need of power.

In the best way. Coders have opinions, and those opinions are welcomed at Inspire. While technical skills are important, Inspire is looking for technologists who want to feel a sense of purpose when they go to work everyday. Inspire’s dev team brings the company’s mission to life in everything it builds. The drive to create a larger impact on this world is very real, but employees don’t take themselves too seriously. Every employee is an Avenger fighting climate change.
