We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior User Interaction Developer to join our Product Design team. Our diverse group works across disciplines, practices user-centered design and applies lean methodologies.

As a Senior User Interaction Developer, you will work closely with internal stakeholders from around the globe to design, architect and evaluate our products to provide elegant solutions for our customers. This will be an exciting opportunity to apply your UI design experience to create high impact, modern interactions for a range of complex products.

This position requires an individual who can successfully work in a dynamic environment where priorities change based on continually evolving business needs. Deadline driven project assignments and our iterative approach to development processes require a professional with excellent adaptability and communication skills.

The User Interaction Developer role is specifically dedicated to building elegant front-end designs that can be easily maintained and adhere to the guidelines provided by the design team. You need to be proactive in taking the design and micro interactions a step further for our customers. Ideally you will also have strong experience in interactive data visualizations and be able to support UX concept ideations.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and utilize best practices in the UI framework
  • Collaborate closely with user experience designers, visual designers, solutions analysts, product managers and technical project teams to conceptualize, design and implement highly usable and technically feasible interface designs.
  • Work with the UX team to enforce accessibility standards in the application design
  • Create, evaluate and modify prototypes to support evolving software application development.
  • Assist in developing design concepts and implementation, providing input on user design considerations
  • Collaborates with software developers in a development environment to style and design interfaces for complex applications
  • Provides UI expertise and mentoring to team members and stakeholders in established design patterns and UI best practices
  • Produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for products in development.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in front-end web development (CSS, JavaScript, HTML5), including JQuery and modern JS Frameworks such as AngularJS.
  • Strong development experience with D3.js or RaphaelJS, including animated and interactive visualizations
  • Fluent in at least one server-side language: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, or Perl
  • Successful track record in creating appealing visualizations containing large and complex data sets
  • Portfolio samples may be requested
  • Experience using GIT including Gitflow and maintainer preferred
  • Experience working with agile methodologies preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate in a cross-discipline and creative team comprised of users, user experience designers, product managers, developers and executive leaders
  • Comfortable working with a distributed (global) team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly creative, organized and detail-oriented
  • Passionate about delivering the best user experience possible
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects
