Senior Network Engineer

Clarivate is seeking a process oriented individual with a ‘can do’.  Individuals submitting resumes for this position must have the ability to think critically, creatively, independently, cooperatively, be mentally flexible and agile.  He or she must possess the ability and self-confidence to adapt to rapid or major changes, be curious with a desire to learn, be a positive influence to the team and to champion change with a profound understanding of the importance of teamwork.  Potential candidates must show strong technical networking skills, documentation skills, strong customer focus, excellent analytical, problem solving, oral, telephone, written, presentation and communication skills.  Candidates must have the ability to interface, partner, and influence network vendors and technology partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design & engineering efforts, as well as expert technical input and support for Network and Security solutions based on recognized standards and best practices
  • Collaborate and consult with team to develop designs, solutions, implementations, and prioritize plans to meet standards & requirements
  • Work with peers to assist and support IT initiatives
  • Follow all Change Management and acceptance testing processes
  • Validate and/or improve processes for performing change and quality assurance checks
  • Follow all Incident and Problem Management processes for operational support
  • Participate in efforts to update to Network processes, procedures, guidelines, and standards
  • Participate in investigations, analysis, reviews, pilots, and evaluations of advanced technologies
  • Work with peers in recommending improvements to existing systems and identify potential issues for escalation and resolution

Preferred experience:

  • Supporting Global Cisco and Cisco Meraki Infrastructure
  • Intelligent WAN (iWAN)/SDWAN with Broadband
  • Cisco VoIP support
  • Cisco ASR 1000 Series
  • Cisco Switch Series (all)
  • Cisco 4500 Series
  • Cisco Meraki MX (Router), MS (Switch) and MR (WiFi AP)
  • Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, Power Point and Project
  • Orion Solar Winds support and configuration
  • Creation and upkeep of Network related documentation
  • Advanced in-depth LAN/WAN/Security/Video support and engineering experience
  • In-depth hands-on routing protocol experience – EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VRRP
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with Cisco routing and software
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with Cisco switching and software
  • In-depth hands-on experience with packet/protocol analyzers to find and remedy application and network performance issues
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience Video Conferencing
  • Substantial hands-on experience with installation and maintenance of Cisco’s WiFi 802.11x systems
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge of structured cabling, network facilities, electrical, UPS
  • Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, or as a technical lead when required
  • Willingness to participate and share in rotating on-call duties
  • Assist team with knowledge progression
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related disciplines

Required experience:

  • Current CCNP or above
  • 7+ years of professional experience in WAN/LAN Network solutions, at the Enterprise level in large complex organizations
  • Extensive Cisco Router, Cisco Switch, VoIP, IP Design and Configuration Experience
