This exciting, new role within the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) will lead a comprehensive digital marketing strategy by conceptualizing, guiding, executing and analyzing various projects in support of the campaign and organizational priorities. The Associate Director will evaluate and recommend a comprehensive plan for blast emails, website presence, social media marketing and more. This position will work collaboratively with all areas of DAR in addition to the Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Delaware. This position supports the overall efforts of DAR Communications, but is primarily responsible for those priorities related to digital communications and marketing.

    • Develops and executes a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations through video, email and web channels.
    • Oversees DAR’s website presence, including the project management, vendor management and relationships across the University related to DAR’s current website redesign.
    • Provides guidance on the use of copy and imagery on the new website to ensure it aligns with the overall DAR mission and message.
    • Serves as the primary manager of the DAR email calendar and offers strategic solutions to the timing of high volume email distribution. Develops email strategy for the department and works with DAR Communications team to implement.
    • Oversees the Delaware First campaign website, managing a steady content calendar, working closely with the vendor on updates, incorporating new video and design as needed.
    • Collaborates with peers to optimize digital channels for specific audiences and ensure brand consistency.
    • Recommends and implements website content and design strategies. Analyzes web traffic metrics and suggest solutions to boost DAR web presence.
    • Manages a team of digital and data professionals; manages day-to-day performance and provides timely feedback.
    • Stays abreast of digital technology advancements through professional development opportunities and industry journals; establishes best practices in digital marketing for DAR.
    • Maintains confidentiality and discretion when dealing with President, high profile donors, volunteers and staff.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of job-related experience in digital communications, marketing or related field. Solid knowledge of web analytics tools (i.e. -Google Analytics) and the ability to adapt strategy and various channels to a variety of audiences. Hands on experience with online marketing tools and practices. Familiarity with web design and HTML. Management experience a plus. Experience working with video, email and web vendors. Publications and communications experience required. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously, while managing competing priorities. Ability to work with a team as well as independently and to be proactive in seeking solutions to challenges.

• This role requires working occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
• Evening and weekend activities as well as local and regional travel.
