POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Technology Engineer Sr you will be a member of PNC’s Information Technology organization within the Corporate and Institutional Banking group, you will be based in a remote location.

Your responsibilities include performing critical technical activities as a lead/developer supporting distributed Java/.NET/ Oracle / IIS suite /BPM and working with a team on application software enhancements. Current application, services the on boarding and maintenance of Treasury Management accounts and products.

Position Detail:
Responsible for performing: application development as a member of scrum crew. Develop a deep understanding of the application functionality including the various key components, what they do, and how they interact with each other.
• Understand user stories, estimate and implement it
• Mentor the team as and when required
• Look for opportunities to automate and innovate
• Develop deep expertise in the PNC agile process and toolsets
• Be involved with complex software releases and ensure successful deployments
• Work closely with other scrum teams and PNC technical teams

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Independently performs highly complex software research, problem resolution, and development activities. Tasks are performed across a variety of technology platforms, based upon the underlying architecture of the business systems supported.
Develops and utilizes full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and design. Has good understanding of the business capabilities for which application is designed.
This position will reside in PNC Locations

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field with 9 plus years related experience
• Possess an expert and thorough understanding of IT concepts including database concepts structures, software/application development techniques and testing techniques
• Expert and thorough understanding of core technologies contained within the LOB application supported
• Professional experience with planning, designing, developing, and deploying production applications preferred (multiple platforms experience preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Understanding of Agile project methodologies
• Strong Analytical, Design and Problem solving skills

Preferred Skills:
• 9 years developing/supporting Java based enterprise application with Oracle database backend
• Preferred knowledge of BPM Technologies (IBM BPM/Flowable/Camunda).
• Expert knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript and jQuery
• Process expertise and through understanding of IT concepts including database structures, reference architectures, SOA, software / application development testing techniques.
• Experience with writing services as well as consuming services using REST, SOAP, XML, JSON or any combination. APIGEE and RedHat Openshift is a plus
• Experience in Angular JS or similar JavaScript MVC framework is a plus.
• Experience with tools like JIRA is a plus.
• Working knowledge DevOps tools (uDeploy/Git)
• Banking/Finance industry experience is an advantage
• Experience in using Dynatrace or any Monitoring tool.

  • Oversees the quality of complex project deliverables while ensuring that they are in compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic – Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Problem Solving – Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
