POSITION OVERVIEW

As an Enterprise Architecture Mgr Sr (Cloud Strategy and Architecture) within PNC’s Enterprise Technology & Security Architecture Group, you will be based in any location within the PNC Footprint.

In this senior leadership role, the candidate will lead and manage a team of Enterprise Cloud Architects responsible for providing enterprise architecture and enablement services that ensure PNC is well-positioned to most appropriately leverage and optimally deliver Cloud Hosted technology solutions.

Candidates in this role are recognized as subject matter experts and have a strong technical background in establishing Cloud Architectures and Solution Blueprints across more than one Cloud Service Provider In addition, candidates will have a proven track record in the establishment of effective enterprise technology strategies, standards and governance models across Cloud deployment models (SaaS, IaaS and PaaS).

PRIMARY AREAS OF ACCONTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
• Serve as a primary EA business partner, advisor and relationship manager for key EA executive (c-suite) stakeholders supporting the delivery of current and emerging Cloud Hosted technology solutions
• Manage and develop talent and technical skills within the enterprise architecture resource team; employ team to deliver high quality solution advisory services, enterprise strategies and architectures.
• Lead with a strong technology architecture point of view, guiding and contributing to decisions pertaining to the inception of technology strategies and enterprise architectures that guide technology investment priorities across the enterprise.
• Serve as an EA thought leader providing visionary insights that advocate and strategically position Cloud as a core enabler for the effective delivery of business strategies and needs
• Serve as the primary enterprise technology architecture steward, representative, liaison and approver in the Cloud Strategy and Governance Office.
• Lead in the design of best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technology solutions that accelerate and enable the adoption of emergent and transformative technologies.
• Establish and execute a Cloud Solution Use Case Portfolio Assessment and develop corresponding Cloud Solution Architectures to support both current and future state demands for Cloud
• Support the development and implementation of a Cloud Governance Framework that ensures the appropriate oversight of Cloud Hosted Service Offerings
• Support the enablement, onboarding and delivery of Cloud Solution Use Cases.
Serve as a strategic consulting partner providing enterprise architecture positions, perspectives and point of views to technology hosting, engineering and delivery teams.

Candidates in the role will have qualified industry certifications across one or more Cloud Service Providers (Azure preferred, AWS and Google).

  • Manages the research, strategic development, and implementation of an enterprise-wide architecture for data, applications, businesses and technologies.
  • Develops and assesses the strategies of enterprise architecture and roadmaps development.
  • Leads IT research and development groups that design business application architecture, data and technologies, for multiple departments and platforms.
  • Makes recommendations, gains approval, and develops implementation strategies for new technologies.
  • Evaluates and recommends product selection to ensure that organizational goals for security, reliability, and performance are achieved.

IT Architecture – Knowledge of and ability to design and improve organizational IT structures and blueprints in order to better support business operations and efficiently achieve organizational objectives.

Service Oriented Architecture Technologies – Knowledge of the technologies used to enable excellent IT service for business clients; ability to develop, implement and support a variety of such technologies.

The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) – Knowledge of and ability to use this universal framework released by ‘The Open Group’ to effectively plan, develop and govern enterprise architecture.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
