The Business Analyst will take a support role on client engagements specifically on our team servicing our Central American clients. The position is responsible for collaborating with their team to describe and demonstrate processes within our software application.

They will also aid in translating  client process descriptions into actions items within the context of the application. This includes the helping to create new/update existing product documentation and explaining proposed designs to both developers and client end-users. They may also aid in translating documentation for the project and the product from English to Spanish.

The Business Analyst will be client-facing and able to devise and consider multiple solutions for given client requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  •  Assistance with the facilitation of requirements reviews/design discussions/testing sessions with user teams
  • Drafts logical and user-relevant business cases in order to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business needs
  • Map a business process based on a user’s description
  • Considers usability as a decision-making point when considering multiple design options
  • Performs user application training that is specific to the business cases provided and discussed during the requirements phase
  • Serves as a conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
  • Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
  • Documents and analyzes required information and data arising from business discussions
  • Learns and understands basic client/server and database architectures
  • Effectively collaborates with developers in order establish a technical approach for a given feature or set of features
  • Analyze and breakdown client business models to recommend how best to leverage products and industry best practices
  • Learn to Identify and execute opportunities to generate revenue

Experience & Qualifications

  • 0-2 Years experience in a similar role and/or an educational background in a relevant field
  • Fluency in Spanish language
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Business Management /Business Administration / Finance or similar
  • Solid understanding of Financial / Managerial accounting
  • Experience with software implementations, SDLC preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% annually

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to lead requirements sessions, user interviews, process discussions
  • Ability to travel to client sites for various activities including participation in sales meetings, detailing understanding of client’s business-models and requirements, providing training, or performing other follow-ups
  • Ability to work through complex user scenarios and software design challenges
  • Ability manage simultaneous priorities and deadlines

While most of Odessa’s global teams work out of the company’s Bangalore, India offices, the company’s HQ is in Philadelphia and they are preparing to move into a new and bigger space (also at Two Liberty Place), one that will accommodate an anticipated doubling of staff within about two years.
