The MicroStrategy developer will be on the cutting edge of technology, while leading David’s Bridal and the Business Intelligence team on our continual journey to success. This dynamic role will be responsible for continuously improving, expanding and evolving the current MicroStrategy environment, while also working directly with our team of business users and leaders on various adhoc report requests that will enable the business to thrive well into the future.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the agile lifecycle of the MicroStrategy solution; including design, development, testing, migration, documentation, and production support
  • Collaborate with business users to develop ad-hoc reports
  • Maintain MicroStrategy Narrowcast jobs and subscriptions
  • Maintain MicroStrategy Mobile dashboards, advanced documents, and public reports
  • Understand and optimize SQL for best performance against large databases
  • Maintain schema objects in complex architecture design


Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide MicroStrategy production support on a 24 x 7 rotating schedule
  • Troubleshoot and trace data quality issues, and communicate issues clearly to all stakeholders
  • Work closely with our ETL team on report scheduling, and various other data issues
  • Responsible for training program for new associates
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute documentationJob Specifications:
  • Education
  • BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, or related technical field Work Experience
  • Experience in retail or omni-channel environment preferred
  • Experience (3 years) with MicroStrategy solutions such as Architect, Developer, I-server, Mobile, Enterprise Manager, Command Manager, and Integrity Manager
  • Experience with Narrowcast, Report Distribution Services, and automated Datamarts
  • Experience with relational DBMS such as SQL Server or Oracle
  • Experience with complex objects such as compound metrics, transformations, consolidations, and custom groups
  • Experience with logical modeling in a star schema environment
  • Experience with Windows Server 64-bit OS, IIS Web Server, and Windows Task scheduler
  • Experience with MicroStrategy Security Administration Knowledge
  • Very strong knowledge of MicroStrategy platform performance and VLDB properties
  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of the retail business model
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
  • Strong knowledge of SQL programmingSkills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to critically think through problems, and make practical recommendations
