Technically Media is a digital media company that focuses on building and making connections within our community of professionals. We drive results for our clients and impact for our community, which we serve with journalism, events and services. We publish Technical.ly and Generocity.org; our clients are growing organizations with hiring and retention (employer brand marketing and oher talent services) needs, among others who want to meet members of our community.

 

We are hiring a creative and mission-minded Marketing Manager to expand our lead-generating activities at the top of our Buyer Journey. Our Marketing Manager will succeed by shaping our content marketing and marketing automation to discover and nurture leads, which are primarily companies that want to hire from and make their own connections within our community. This is primarily a marketing operations role though there are opportunities to deploy creativity when needed.

 

We are an efficient team of 17. This role reports to Vice President (of Sales & Marketing), Vincent Better; complemented by our Sales Director, Aileen Connolly McNulty, and working in tandem with our Editorial team (which owns our Reader Journey) and Product team (which is chiefly responsible for connections within our community). As Marketing Manager, you will oversee contractor support and a limited budget that can grow with your experience. 

 

We have a nascent content marketing strategy — which includes a Slack and Linkedin community, on-going editorial, a weekly newsletter, a quarterly webinar series and an annual conference, called Introduced — to inform, connect and grow a community of professionals who may rely on our services, beginning with our Talent Pro platform. This Marketing Manager will work closely with our CEO to support, shape and grow this work. A key metric of success will be the number of qualified leads transitioned to our sales team across the markets we serve.

 

Our client-focused marketing is most established with our Technical.ly brand, which will remain the first priority. Our Generocity.org brand, currently in Philadelphia only, has a less established customer focus, which presents a future opportunity for growth. At this stage, Generocity’s buyers are large social services organizations (with hiring and retention needs), foundations and corporate social responsibility teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Define and relentlessly improve our Buyer Journey, with special focus on our top-of-funnel marketing automation and content marketing tools for lead nurturing
  • Drive recurring marketing qualified leads for our sales team leveraging the content marketing channels we are using to establish a community of HR professionals:
    • Introduced, an annual conference on ‘building better workplaces’
    • Culture Builder Live, a weekly interview series from our CEO
    • Culture Builder newsletter, a weekly set of links from our CEO
    • BuildingUp, a quarterly webinar series
    • An annual report on hiring and culture, written by our newsroom and CEO
    • Our public Slack community
    • Our Linkedin channel
  • Work with CEO to develop marketing creative for the promotion of these
  • Engage our existing Talent Pro clients as a means for referrals and client value by including them in these content marketing campaigns
  • Development and continued improvement of our ‘ideal customer profile,’ alongside more general buyer personas 
  • Support lead-scoring strategy in our Hubspot CRM and database
  • Support placement of CEO and other relevant staff for speaking and writing opportunities deemed valuable for driving lead generation
  • Collaborate with Editorial team audience growth strategies that complement lead generation efforts

 

SKILLS:

  • Adept at developing marketing operations strategies for prospect pipeline development and movement through sales cycle
  • Experience with CRM; bonus points for Hubspot specifically
  • Comfort with Google Suite and Instapage
  • Creative, resourceful and effective developer of lead generation and client engagement strategies
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a strength in diplomacy and community organizing

 

Other information

    • Position is salaried, based on experience.
    • Position includes a 401k plan, which includes a 4% company match
  • Position includes competitive health insurance coverage (we offer a defined contribution that amounts on average to 70 percent of an individual plan), including primary, vision and dental
  • Position includes Bring-Your-Own-Device reimbursement
  • This role is remote flexible. Bonus points if you would be able to operate out of Technically Media’s office at the Curtis Center in Philadelphia when possible but this is not a requirement. 
  • Though results matter most and Technically Media prides itself on flexibility, as a guide, this role might expect to work roughly 40-45 hours a week.
  • Technically Media offers 10 paid holidays per year; 15 PTO days accrued per year with additional PTO offered progressively.
  • Technically Media offers six-weeks of paid new-parent leave, as well as other accommodations for working parents.
  • Technically Media additionally closes its offices for the final week of the year to relax and unwind before each new year. This serves as additional paid holiday time.
  • This position will be provided with a staff manual that will include other details, including policy, strategy and details like standard company holidays and more.
