Having planted roots in countries all over the world, global financial services firm Macquarie offers the work experience of a lifetime for tech professionals who crave mobility, growth, and exposure to new cultures and business experiences.
Macquarie, the largest infrastructure asset manager in the world, is known across the globe for its expertise and steady success in asset management, capital markets and technology-driven financial services. The company currently manages a global total of $391.4 billion (US) in assets and has 50 years of unbroken profitability under its belt.
In Philly and NYC specifically, Macquarie engages a group of sharp, client-facing technologists to support its investment management business. The tech teams often work side-by-side with asset managers, learning about their client needs and finding innovative ways to creatively build or enhance Macquarie's financial service offerings through technology.
Although the global firm employs over 15,000 people in 30 markets, it has managed to add authentic local touches and personalization to every single one of its offices. Of course, there are some key threads woven through the Australian-born company, like its core values of integrity, accountability and opportunity, but each office pays respect to the culture, passions and interests of the people that work there.
Here in Philly, Macquarie's office culture speaks straight to every Philadelphian's heart and soul with occasional tickets to UPenn's Macquarie Court at the Palestra or snack-fueled viewing parties for important games. The centrally-located, down-to-earth office also employs a “bottom up" culture, which means that everything from social events to community outreach is determined by a social committee representing the entire team's passions and interests.
The company's fast-paced approach enables the tech team to adapt to changes quickly. With an open mind towards embracing new technology, and a culture that encourages learning and new ways of thinking, employees at all levels are given a platform to introduce ideas or take ownership of projects that involve skills they have a craving to learn and master.
