Position Summary

Boutique commercial real estate law firm in Philadelphia seeks highly motivated candidate to join our team of technically adept firm management, attorneys, and staff. This individual will provide a number of legal tech functions that include support, project management, and cybersecurity oversight as our firm further develops our path for the future. We are offering a unique position where you will be asked to collaborate with management, attorneys, and staff on current projects and future plans. Essential Functions

  • Firm tech support – Maintain excellent skills on firm software (including Word, Excel, Outlook, document management system, document automation program, case management program, PDF and OCR program, document comparison program, timekeeping program, and other legal tech applications); identify, track, and resolve issues as they arise; and provide highly responsive first-level support to firm users. Work closely with firm management and technical training consultant to educate and support firm users. Coordinate with IT vendors.
  • Cybersecurity and information governance – Investigate ever-changing security landscape; work with firm management, attorneys, and staff on best practices to minimize risk; and assist with implementing protective measures on an ongoing basis.
  • Computer hardware – Set up and maintain firm computers, mobile devices, and other electronics, and support firm management, attorneys, and staff in secure use of hardware in keeping with firm policies. Maintain inventory of all electronic devices.
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning – Work with firm management and our vendors to continually ensure procedures are in place in the event of an emergency.
  • Firm offices – Coordinate technology efforts among satellite offices, with occasional travel to satellite locations, one of which is accessible only by stairs, for onsite support.
  • VoIP – Educate firm users on operation of phone system as needed and provide necessary support and coordination with VoIP provider.
  • E-discovery and e-filings – Provide support to attorneys and paralegals as needed.
  • Special projects – Manage and complete special assignments.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Facility for learning other software programs quickly and eagerness to participate in ongoing education both inside and outside the firm
  • Sense of ownership of projects from initial idea through execution and follow-up, with ability to pay close attention to detail and to work well both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to listen, synthesize information, and communicate effectively
  • Aptitude for multitasking, picking up new skills quickly, and adapting to ever-changing priorities
  • After-hours availability
  • Commitment to protection of client and firm confidentiality
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work at a computer screen for extended periods
  • Ability to physically access all areas where computer equipment is located, including tight areas, up stairs, and under desks
