Inspire’s Accounting team works cross functionally to support the business and as a unit collaborates to such an extent that every team member likely works with one another.

As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be engaged in activities/processes that result in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting for decision making, managing its capital and credit facilities efficiently, supporting energy operations and enabling product experiences for our members.  You’ll also be brought into projects that help support new product launches.


  1. Fixed Assets: Aid in procurement process & manage our fixed asset roll forward and posting monthly depreciation entries. Quarterly review of fixed asset disposals.
  2. Sales Comp Reporting: Help format & email out third party sales vendor weekly reporting.
  3. Other Current Assets: Ensure proper coding & amortization of other current assets. Includes maintaining a roll forward reconciliation & working alongside third parties for key reporting.
  4. Accounts payable: Support A/P process as needed – Manage vendors, invoice entry, ensuring appropriate approvals/authorizations, processing electronic banking transactions, and supporting cash flow forecasting
  5. Bank Reconciliation: Post cash payments receipts and assist with  monthly bank reconciliations.
  6. Monthly Financial Close: Support month end close entries
  7. Support Accounting Projects: Support various Accounting projects across new product launches and optimization of internal forecasting.


  • Must Have
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Extreme attention to detail
    • Demonstrated experience meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities
    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • Eager to learn
  • Nice to Have
    • 1-2 yrs of accounting work experience ideal
    • Early stage company/start up experience
    • Netsuite Experience a plus

What’s unique about working on Inspire’s tech team?

Between Philly and Santa Monica, we have about 60 people on our tech team. Being small, we’re able to bond and work together closely. Everyone across the entire team has a hand in creating something for customers. No one group comes up with ideas or roadmaps and presents them to the rest of the group; we collectively decide what we should be working on and how we can work towards bringing Inspire’s overall mission to life.

We’ve created a very supportive and uplifting subculture. It’s not just about social events; it’s about asking, “How can we grow together? How can we work better together?”


How has Inspire has worked to improve employee work/life balance during the pandemic?

Due to the always-on nature of working from home during quarantine, we found that people had started working more hours and taking less PTO. Even when we told people to take time off, they still seemed to check in and contribute. We established “bonus days,” where every other Friday is off for the entire company. That way, no one is working, employees don’t feel that they are missing anything, and everyone can truly relax and recharge.
