We are finding solutions to large-scale challenges that will forever change the way people think about their home, their energy and their carbon footprint. We solve complex problems in a challenging space while remaining focused on our mission at hand and helping empower our users through education and access.  As a Product Designer, you will be focused on understanding our users needs and building unique and scalable experiences. You will help other product designers along the way and deliver a consistent customer experience across multiple features and systems. How you’ll help: 
  • Dedication: Deliver value to our end customers by building world class experiences and never settling for mediocre solutions. 
  • Communication: Build relationships with cross functional team members and executives and effectively speak to process, design goals and team vision
  • Execution: Influence product strategy and execute design work with a high level of polish, and understand how to solve a range of product challenges across iOS, Android, web, mobile web, and email
  • Beyond Design: Contribute beyond the Design Team, work to educate and spread Design Thinking to the rest of the business and work closely with the other peers.
Some Year 1 Deliverables:
  • Clean Member web signed in experience 
  • Clean Member email communications and strategy
  • Product User Research for clean members and natural gas
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

Non-negotiables:

  • 4–5 years of experience as a product designer at a consumer-facing company
  • Experience working with—and scaling—design systems
  • Working knowledge of best practices, processes and trends across the UX/UI spectrum
  • Strong case studies showcasing your end-to-end process from problem definition to final solution and impact on users and the business

 Nice-to-have:

  • Previous experience in the climate or energy sector
  • Experience with UX research
  • Comfort conducting alignment workshops
  • Working knowledge of Figma

What makes Inspire an exciting place to work? We are constantly working towards something bigger than ourselves. Our mission is what inspires and connects us. Through data, we empower customers by informing them of their choices and giving them an option to positively impact the environment.   What’s unique about working on Inspire’s tech team? Between Philly and Santa Monica, we have about 60 people on our tech team. Being small, we’re able to bond and work together closely. Everyone across the entire team has a hand in creating something for customers. No one group comes up with ideas or roadmaps and presents them to the rest of the group; we collectively decide what we should be working on and how we can work towards bringing Inspire’s overall mission to life. We’ve created a very supportive and uplifting subculture. It’s not just about social events; it’s about asking, “How can we grow together? How can we work better together?”   How has Inspire has worked to improve employee work/life balance during the pandemic? Due to the always-on nature of working from home during quarantine, we found that people had started working more hours and taking less PTO. Even when we told people to take time off, they still seemed to check in and contribute. We established “bonus days,” where every other Friday is off for the entire company.
