Taylor & Francis is looking for you to join our digital production team; we work in a friendly and supportive team atmosphere. The Digital Production Analyst will provide key assistance in a variety of projects to improve our global journal publishing operations. We welcome recent or soon to be graduates or anyone who wishing to make a career change  to apply. This is an entry level position with room for growth.

You will be working on projects that use:

  • WordPress including site management and creating custom themes and plugins
  • Advanced uses of Microsoft Excel
  • Content management with XML including XSLT, XQuery, Schematron, and JATS
  • Programming and supporting systems that use a variety of languages
  • Lean process improvement and Agile project management

On the job learning will be encouraged. You will also be using collaboration tools such as git, issue tracking systems, wikis, and Slack.

Responsibilities

  • Help to develop and support production department intranet sites and systems
  • Develop tools to provide unique solutions for Production department needs
  • Assist in quality control and quality improvement projects
  • Perform database, software, and web site testing
  • Generate reports as requested
  • Analyze production data to spot trends
  • Update web sites and systems with new content as it is provided
  • Provide presentations and training on Production department procedures and systems
  • Conduct user research
  • Respond effectively to problems reported by users
  • Apply technical skills to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Work effectively with team members in geographically distributed locations

Key Competencies

  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and propose practical solutions
  • Experience with project management
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in publishing workflows and process improvement
  • Strong workflow analysis skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Skills in troubleshooting
  • Interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to navigate and work through challenges with a positive attitude
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills displaying cooperative attitude and flexibility
  • Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to self-teach and pick up new concepts quickly
