The Digital Marketing Specialist will oversee social media properties and perform strategy development, analytics/insights, and the execution of digital marketing campaigns. This person will serve as the primary point-of-contact and project manager for the creation of digital assets in support of all online marketing and branding initiatives (i.e. website content, mass e-mails, newsletters, banners, video, audio, and other digital content internally and externally).


  • Manage and optimize social media properties (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.), increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Create weekly editorial calendars for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Update social media properties daily with copy and other content as necessary tailoring messages appropriately for each platform
  • Use tools like Hootsuite and Asana to manage multiple social media channels
  • Respond to social media inquiries regularly and engage with users providing appropriate and timely feedback
  • Monitor relevant social media platforms throughout the day and suggest content with which to engage from the official SoundExchange accounts
  • Liaise with SoundExchange graphic designer, videographer, and external creative vendor to develop graphics for social media ensuring that everything remains within the SoundExchange brand
  • Optimize SEO by aligning it with the overall social media plan and content (blogs, campaigns, videos)
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand reach and strengthen relationships with the public
  • Manage Google Analytics, Google AdWords, online advertising, and social media insights/analytics for regular presentations to senior management
  • Track performance (CPM, CPC, Impressions, conversions) and work with Manager of Marketing to implement suggested modifications to campaigns; provide regular reports to Communications department
  • Manage and oversee email marketing campaigns and assist other departments with mass emailing as needed
  • A/B testing, modify/update templates for newsletters and other marketing blasts, track and report on analytics
  • Manage and develop posts for the President and CEO’s Twitter page, engaging with influencers in the music industry

Skills and Specifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate “tech-speak” to other staff members not as familiar with the space
  • Ability to work independently in a high-energy, fast-paced creative environment
  • General knowledge of design in order to create visually appealing graphics to coordinate with appropriate posts
  • Strong project management skills
  • Deep knowledge and comprehensive understanding of social media management tools, and how to use these tools to direct the marketing strategy at hand
  • Capacity to pick up on new digital tools quickly and assess value and opportunities for the company to leverage them
  • The ability to convey ideas in a clear and precise manner
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and still meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels

Education and Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2-4 years of social media management experience
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google AdWords and social media analytics
  • Use of tools management tools like Hootsuite, Social Report, Tweet Deck
  • Experience using email management platforms (e.g. Exact Target)
  • Willingness to learn new platforms and apply skills as needed
  • A passion for digital and social media
