About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our fast-growing startup. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality software products. You will work alongside product managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of features while guiding a team of enthusiastic software engineers. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience managing software development teams in a fast-paced startup environment. Our tech stack: Javascript, React, Redux, Python, Django, Flask, Kubernetes, AWS, Docker and more

  • Mentor and develop a team of software engineers by fostering career development, offering guidance and support
  • Grow our team of engineers by participating in interviews, guiding candidate discussions and maintaining hiring funnels
  • Collaborate with tech leads, product managers, and designers to ensure alignment, define project scope and requirements
  • Manage project timelines by setting and meeting goals while delivering quality products
  • Participate in engineering design discussions and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Contribute to the development of engineering processes and best practices to improve team productivity and satisfaction
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the team

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience managing and building high performing software engineering teams in an Agile environment
  • Strong technical background, with experience in software engineering, architecture, and design
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team
  • High empathy and experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, finding compromises when necessary
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality products and driving results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend application framework such as Django or Flask and experience with frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is preferred
