Publishing Services, an Agora company, is looking for a Business Analyst to join its team.The Business Analyst will support cross-functional teams throughout The Agora Companies by gathering technical business requirements and providing project coordination. This role will require duties such as research, documentation, implementation, end-user training, assistance with system updates, communication across Publishing Services and The Agora Companies, development of project request forms, coordination with ACS (external software vendor), and development of user’s guides.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Projects and Resources with project planning and execution throughout the project lifecycle including: gathering and prioritizing system and customer requirements, increasing knowledge of systems, and working closely with the Client Services team, Publishing Services Management team, Software Development team and The Agora Companies (users) to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to keep projects on-track.
  • Gather and develop business requirements from fellow team members, other Publishing Services application teams, and the other Agora companies.
  • Analyze tradeoffs between usability and system requirements.
  • Translate business requirements for both technical and non-technical support teams clearly and concisely.
  • Produce documentation for QA team to assist in development of test cases.
  • Translate technical requirements for end user documentation and assist in production of audience-appropriate training material.
  • Prepare user-friendly release notes to accompany each release.
  • Verify development tasks have been completed according to requirements before release.
  • Carry out duties according to priority and submit necessary documentation in a timely fashion with respect to explicit and implicit deadlines.
  • Communicate status updates throughout development cycles.
  • Develop and maintain clear standards for requirements documentation.
  • Complete Operational Reviews.


  • Experience with managing projects that develop, enhance, and support enterprise systems.
  • Experience in HTML, CSS, and SQL. RESTful API’s a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinker; capable of producing flexible solutions.
  • Experience with JIRA a plus.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude and a constant learner.
