The Tomorrow Toolkit for Entrepreneurs was created in response to one big promise: we are building great companies differently than we did in recent generations, and we’re doing them with a greater awareness of where we’re building them.
The Great Recession, maturing web economies and urbanism trends have informed a kind of entrepreneurship boom that is highly collaborative and locally rooted, while deeply global in its reach. That’s the context with which this ebook is meant to offer first-time, new and newly-returned founders to a decidedly fast-changing climate.
This ebook is an extension of the Tomorrow Tour, a multi-city event and reporting series organized by Technical.ly and Comcast NBCUniversal and first announced in January 2016. The goal was to learn how emerging entrepreneurship communities are developing in ways similar and distinct from each other. It’s also based on years of reporting of how things have changed (and stayed the same) and informed by the founders who are doing it best today. The goal is to offer the reader as many clear and actionable lessons as possible. In 2016, we visited Philadelphia, Denver, Miami, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and touched base with entrepreneurs around the globe.
So whether you have an idea, a prototype or a young startup, you should be able to get advice you can act on today. Better still, whether that organization is a mobile app company or a socially-minded services group or a more traditional business, there should be lessons for you here.
