D.C. has a front row seat for the interaction of tech and government. That’s evident not just in startups that focus on technology designed to shape civic life, but also in the large tech companies that have a policy presence in D.C.
Two leaders in tech policy from Google and Twitter will be speaking at the next Women in Tech Breakfast at General Assembly. The event is scheduled for August 14, with a start time at 8:30 a.m.

Panelists include:
- Aerica Banks, a patent policy analyst at Google who leads the Asian Google Network Chapter. She also participates in the Diversity Core program, spending one-fifth of her time working with Black entrepreneurs in D.C.
- Bridget Coyne, a senior public policy manager at Twitter who worked on government initiatives including the U.S. elections and party conventions.
The event’s panelists will share “how they reached their level of success, advise on navigating the workplace, and how we can help the next generation of women in tech,” according to the description.
