If you haven’t heard yet or are wondering if this is real, count this as confirmation that the rumors are true: We’re launching Technical.ly DC Chatter via Project Text this week.

We’re excited to announce a six-week free trial pilot program where the community will be able to communicate with me, Technical.ly DC’s market editor, via text. Technical.ly DC Chatter is a private SMS group whose members will receive two or three texts a week from me and subscribers can chat about anything I text to the group, privately and unfiltered in one-on-one conversations. 

The texts may be what we’re hearing behind the scenes, heads-up on stories before they go live and just good ‘ole convo. Here’s a sample text:

“Good evening! Have you heard the news about real estate property intelligence company Remine laying off 42 employees working in sales? That was 2/3 of the Fairfax, Va.-based company’s sales team. From your knowledge of layoffs, how do you think this change could affect the company moving forward? Do you see an acquisition in its future?”

I will also use this outlet to spark some intriguing discussions, just to hear what the community is thinking. Plus, you’ve got my ear, so offer up as much feedback as you’d like about what we’re doing right or wrong, or the stories you think we’ve missed out on. It’s instant engagement. It’s conversation.
