On Monday night, #dctech descended on Social Tables HQ for the third installment of the Vinetta Project’s female founder showcases.

The gathered crowd heard from Ting Shih of ClickMedix, a healthtech startup; Stacie Whisonant of PYT Funds, a fintech startup that is working to create a “smarter way” for students to pay college tuition; and Shally Venugopal of Myolo, a company that simplifies mortgage applications.

Ultimately, it was Whisonant and PYT Funds that came out on top, and earned a spot as the third and final finalist for Vinetta Project D.C.’s $20K venture challenge. It has been a big couple of months for PYT Funds, as the company was also recently selected as a member of the new class of Halcyon Incubator fellows.
As far as the Vinetta Project pitch competition goes, Whisonant will now join Alex McManus of Eyrus and and Saureen Desai of ShipLync in the final on Sept. 29. It’s a very strong group of female founders — we can’t wait to see what September brings.
