UD targets ex-DuPonters with continuing education ‘opportunity fairs’

‘Tis the season for tech job fairs — there’s Technical.ly’s very own NET/WORK (clearly the best offering here ?), Delaware Bio’s STEM fair next week and now the University of Delaware is adding two events to the list. But instead of promoting jobs, the UD fairs are for professional development and continuing education opportunities.
Dan Freeman, the director of UD’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship, said the events have been organized to address the needs of recently laid-off DuPonters, but he noted that they’re not exclusively for ex-DuPonters and welcome all who are interested.
The first fair will go from 3-7 p.m. this Thursday at Hercules Plaza, and the second will also be 3-7 p.m., but on March 23 at the UD STAR Campus.
The two fairs will offer information on programs potentially of interest to Delaware’s tech and startup scene, including the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship’s 11-month Master of Science in Entrepreneurship & Design, and Lerner College’s online MBA. Representatives will be there to answer questions about the university’s credit and non-credit certificate programs, which focus on topics like big data, social media marketing strategy and project management.
