Talk women in tech with DC’s own female tech leaders

Diversity in tech is a hot topic, and discussions abound as to how to best to support the success of women and people of color in the tech field.
In this climate, event organizers at Capital One are seizing the “fantastic opportunity to highlight some of the amazing women in our local tech community.” They’ll do this by hosting a panel discussion and Q&A with Susan Tynan, CEO of Framebridge, Yuri Horvath, CTO of 1776, and others. The Nov. 18 event starts at 6:30 p.m.

The free event, which will be held at the Capital One headquarters in McLean, aims to foster discussion of the “root issues” that create the challenges faced by women working in tech. According to the event page the panel will focus on two big questions:

1. What kind of support can companies provide to women in order to retain them at times when women might otherwise drop out of the workforce?
2. How can we narrow the difference between the number of women men have in their professional networks and the number of women women have in their professional networks?

A reception will follow the Q&A.
