SXSW EDU is getting Baltimore’s edtech community together

The July 20 meetup at Betamore's space in City Garage comes just before the deadline to submit talks for next year's event.

With Baltimore’s history of edtech innovation, national players are paying attention. An event being held at Betamore in City Garage this week offers an in-person example.
As they prepare for next year’s event in Austin, SXSW EDU organizers are looking to bring Baltimore’s community of edtech software startups, makers and STEAM leaders together. The event is set for Thursday, July 20, at 6 p.m.

The event will have flash pitches for the community to make connections, as well as tours of The Foundery makerspace that’s located in a separate part of City Garage. ETC is also a partner on the event.
Additionally, SXSW EDU recently opened its PanelPicker platform where talks can be submitted. The next edition of the education-focused ideas conference is scheduled for March 5-8, 2018. Deadline is coming up this Friday, so Thursday’s event is something of a last call.
