Meetup organizers always want to be on the cutting edge. So it was fitting that Technical.ly Baltimore’s Super Meetup was held in a space that many were visiting for the first time.
The Wednesday night event drew 190 people, who had the opportunity to look out onto the city from the light-filled space at Baltimore Studios on N. Holiday St. Meanwhile, Ida B’s Table, a new soul food restaurant opening just below, provided the snacks. One of Baltimore’s favorite colors was also well-represented on the landscape.

The energy in the room showed that there’s no such thing as a summer lull in Baltimore’s tech community. Jen Herchenroeder of Baltimore Hackerspace told us about some upcoming racing trips. Todd Blatt of Baltimore Node makerspace said he’s been working on some replacement parts for the seats at Camden Yards. Mixolo founder Carolyn Walton Lynch said she’s having more events for people who go out solo. And we got the rundown on recently-formed Baltimore Elixir Meetup.

Attendees chatted with teams from SmartLogic, Alderson Loop and Code in the Schools. The mingling was powered by drinks and koozies, courtesy of 14West. Elsewhere, Saul Ewing offered a bevy of swag. And Point3 Security brought the tools to keep things safe.
