SEED 3.0, now in its third year, changed formats this year, this time including a category for teachers who had an idea for an education project. Hosted by Councilman Bill Green and education group PhillyCORE Leaders, the event lets audience members vote on who should win the microgrants.

12+, a nonprofit that aims to help students get access to secondary education, won $5,000 to open a college prep center at Penn Treaty High School, said SEED 3.0 co-organizer Rachel Meadows.
