Paul Herdman, president and CEO of the Rodel Foundation, an education advocacy organization, has recently expressed his concerns over the strength of broadband in Delaware and how access issues may be affecting the foundation’s goal of having world-class classrooms by 2020.
And while the organization’s mission is to establish Delaware schools as worldwide leaders in education, Herdman’s comment was made in regards to the Student Success 2025 plan, a list of 47 recommendations designed to stimulate Delaware’s public education system over the next 10 years.
“In order to get information quickly and seamlessly to kids, we need to have a stronger technology infrastructure,” said Herdman.
This year, Delaware was named best in the country for broadband speed — though that most definitely does not apply to the whole state.
