The Peacetech Accelerator just named its third cohort

C5’s PeaceTech Accelerator is helping its third international cohort of startups this winter, including one based in the D.C. metro area. The eight-week program started Jan. 22 and concludes in March, and participating startups were recognized for their ability to help communities in conflict and crisis zones.

The D.C.-based International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children is the lone local venture in the group. Founded in 1999, the nonprofit organization is run out of Washington, D.C. and has nine employees.

The Accelerator is a partnership between C5, PeaceTech Lab, Amazon Web Services and SAP NS2. The companies will learn to scale on the cloud, have opportunities to pitch to seed and angel investors and receive $50,000 in Amazon Web Services credits.

The cohort also includes: 

• SeaB Energy is the inventor and developer of small-scale waste-to-energy appliances.
• SuperFluids Labs provides predictive analytics to businesses in Africa.
• TerraBlue XT is an India-based healthcare startup focusing on neurology, cardiology and lifestyle-related diseases and disorders.
• One Relief is a charitable donation platform collecting micro-donations for humanitarian relief aid.

C5’s Peacetech Accelerator launched in April, and will graduate three cohorts this year, host guest events and challenges, including announcing the winners of the Shield in the Cloud Challenge on Feb. 27.

As more startups graduate from us, we loop them into everything we do, from events to demos. Their success is our success.”
