New library in New Castle County will sport STEM classrooms

The $21 million library breaks ground this September. It's going to be twice the size of your typical library branch.

There’s a 40,000-square-foot, $21 million library breaking ground this September in New Castle County. As Perkins+Will designer Phil Freelon told the News Journal, that’s double the size of your typical library branch.
So, what are they going to do with all that extra space? They’re not going to fill it with dusty ol’ tomes, are they?
Nope. The library is planning on installing community gathering spaces, STEM classrooms and a “scriptotorium” — a space where young writers can go to hone their craft.
Though, according to the story, there will be a space designated for “older patrons” with leather-bound books. But will it smell of rich mahogany?
