CarpeDM is back with a special edition of its virtual dating show. The company is teaming up with the Capital Pride Alliance to bring a “Date with Pride” edition of LoveCast, its online dating experience.

Launched in 2018, CarpeDM is the developer of a dating app that requires people who match to indulge in a five- to 10-minute video chat before continuing their relationship via text. District IRL is a digital media and marketing company connecting people through in-person and virtual experiences. The pair launched LoveCast back in March when shelter-in-place orders went into effect because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

LoveCast has selected eight queer singles to be a part of the cast for the fourth episode of the show. After a public vote, four couples were selected for their first virtual video dates that took place on June 15. These dates will be broadcasted on June 18 at 8 p.m. in celebration of Pride Month.

This partnership comes after many in-person gatherings for Pride were canceled due to the pandemic. The episode is part of Capital Pride’s #StillWe 2020 campaign to help the LGBTQ+ community celebrate this month in new ways this year.

Monte Durham, LGBTQ+ advocate and fashion director on TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta,” will host this special edition of the show, which will include some live reactions and commentary from cast members. The audience will be able to share comments and ask the cast members questions about their dating experiences with each other.

This episode is sponsored by Poppy, the tech-enabled flower startup offering at-home floral arranging kits during stay-at-home orders.
