Women in tech

It’s Women in Tech month at Technical.ly. Here’s how to get featured

We're looking for both editorial story tips and companies that want to highlight their work via sponsored content.

As we reported this month, the District recently topped a ranking of the best cities for women in tech. That’s good news. But with women filling less than 40 percent of local tech jobs, there’s still work to do.

This March at Technical.ly, we’re exploring how hurdles can be and are being knocked down for local women in tech while highlighting technologists who happen to identify as women as part of Women in Tech month of our editorial calendar. That means we’re publishing a bunch of profiles, features on women-led and women-serving organizations and how-tos about, say, bridging that tech job gender gap.

Follow the series here and send your story pitches about women in tech and related topics to julie@technical.ly (me!).

We’re also offering the opportunity for companies to be featured in sponsored articles highlighting their work in this area; see some past examples of theme-specific sponsored content here, here and here. (Note that our sponsored articles are always labeled as such and are written by a separate team than our regular reporters.)

To get your company featured in a sponsored article, reach out via that big orange button below.

P.S. Reporter Michelai Graham is working on a resource list of career-building resources for women in tech — and “resources” is a purposefully wide range of things: from programs, websites, podcasts, social media accounts and fellowships, to books, mentorship programs and networking/meetup groups.
