Sometimes, #resistance means marching in the streets on weekends; sometimes it means attending a hackathon.
This weekend Crowdie Advisors, LLC, LATISM, StartUp Squad and the new In3 Inclusive Innovation Incubator are teaming up to #HackTheBan — and anti-immigrant policies more generally. The event, which will be held at In3, will bring together organization working with immigrants as well as coders, designers, journalists and more to build digital tools that these organizations can use in their work.
There will be five main goals as outlined by the organizers:
- Immigration clinic – legal assistance to those who need help in D.C.’s community today,
- Design with purpose,
- Create concrete solutions that can be used RIGHT. NOW.
- Foster a technical support community for the resistance,
- Reinforce to all members of the community that they belong here.
The event will start on Friday evening (Cinco de Mayo) and continue into Saturday evening. Want to join in?
RegisterThe organizers are also raising funds to help support the hackathon and its resultant projects — donations are welcome on GoFundMe.
