FutureMakers is now offering a series of after-school maker classes for kids ages 6 to 11 at the Digital Harbor Tech Center in Federal Hill.
Considered a “mobile makerspace,” FutureMakers organizes hands-on material, electronics and technology classes at schools throughout Maryland.
The two classes FutureMakers is offering, according to a press release:
- Breaking Bricks: Lego Hacks and Mods, from Nov. 12 – 21. Two, 3-hour sessions for $60. Students will cut, drill and adhere wood, plastic, foam and flexible materials to create entirely new ways of building with Lego.
- Look, Listen & Touch: Intro to Programming & Physical Computing, from Dec. 2 – 19. Three, 3-hour sessions for $90. Using MaKey microcontrollers, Scratch and sound production software, program and create instruments and games that are controlled by touch. Invent a controller that requires you to collaborate with others. No prior experience required.
