Giving Tuesday, the post-Thanksgiving answer to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, is a day to pause and take a deep breath before jumping full-on into the holiday season, and to take a break from holiday shopping to give to a good cause or two.
There is no shortage of Giving Tuesday options, but here are two that will have a big impact on Delaware youth — and, by extension, the future of Delaware.

Summer Collab

Two-thirds of the achievement gap between high and low-income children can be attributed to long summer breaks from the classroom. SummerCollab has served over 2,000 low-income children in Delaware with their fun summer learning programs that have proven successful in learning retention.

This past October, the program was awarded the National Summer Learning Association’s (NSLA) Founders Award for Excellence in Summer Learning.
As the program grows, the need for funding increases. For Giving Tuesday, SummerCollab has set a goal to raise funds to cover 23 (a nod to the 2/3 statistic) children for Summer 2018, at $411 per child.
