EdTechWomen cofounder Margaret Roth is organizing a summit at SXSW

The “In the Know” summit is focused on increasing diversity in edtech. Roth, also a cofounder of Baltimore startup Yet Analytics, is “facilitating/moderating/hosting” the event.

Baltimore will be well-represented at SXSWedu in Austin next week — among the list of organizers alone.
Last week, we wrote about the summit that Andrew Coy and Digital Harbor Foundation are organizing at the education innovation conference that’s part of SXSW.
This week, we’re back with word(s) that another Baltimore founder is involved in putting together a summit: As a cofounder of EdTechWomen, Margaret Roth is “facilitating/moderating/hosting” the In the Know summit.

Set to be held the morning of March 11 at the JW Marriott in Austin, the session will look to foster discussion about increasing diversity in terms of age, gender, race and background in edtech.
As such, panelists and participants will be focused on getting personal visibility, funding and user acquisition.
“The premise is, if a marketing person, a branding person and an investor walked into a panel at the same time, what would they talk about?” said Roth, who works as Chief Marketing Officer for Baltimore-based Yet Analytics.
In addition to Roth and EdTechWomen co-founder Sehreen NoorAli of Noodle Education, panelists include: Angela Lee of the Columbia Business School, Carla Borsoi of 6Sensor Labs, Burton EdTech founder Don Burton, Bryan Stolle of Mohr Davidow Ventures and executive coach Sara Canaday.
Even though it’s organized by a group called EdTechWomen, Roth said the conversation is aimed at issues that affect both genders. That squares with the group’s mission to create an inclusive edtech community.
SXSWedu has plenty of background on EdTechWomen. The group was highlighted as a “Changemakers” by the conference organizers Check out the full video series below.
