Report: Delaware still has the second fastest internet in the country, nbd

302’s still blazing fast when it comes to internet.
Broadview Networks rolled out their second “Fastest Internet By State” rankings since 2014, and Delaware’s locked into the No. 2 spot once again. This is all based on averages, and Delaware sits behind D.C. (22.5 Mbps) with an average speed of 19.6 Mbps (up from 13.1 Mbps back in 2014). Rounding out the top five with very close speeds are Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maryland.
In Broadview Networks’ post detailing the results using Akamai’s State of the Internet Report, they don’t list Delaware as one of the “winners.” So, we asked them what gives?
Adam Gingery, SEO Specialist at DMI Partners, told us that they “reserved the winners and losers section for the more dramatic changes.” They kept Delaware out of that “Winners Circle” because we’ve “typically been a top-ranking state for years now.”
We spoke with Comcast’s Tom Burke in 2016 specifically about what makes Delaware’s internet so tops. Turn’s out a lot of recent deals (both successful and unsuccessful) have kept Delaware on the bleeding edge when it comes to broadband.
