Crowdfunding of the Week is a regular series highlighting the technology, creative and innovation crowdfunding campaigns in Baltimore that might be worth your support. This week’s project comes from GiveCorps. See other Crowdfundings of the Week here.
Founded in late spring, nonprofit Code in the Schools has already led programs at the Digital Harbor Tech Center and Liberty Elementary School designed to teach middle and high school students basic computer programming skills by having them create their own video games.
To expand its reach to schools that don’t have enough computers for students, Code in the Schools is now raising $6,000 for a “mobile computer lab”: a laptop cart plus laptops and a projector.
Donate to Code in the Schools on GiveCorps.
According to the nonprofit’s donation page, the “mobile computer lab will bring the necessary laptops, projectors, and other equipment to over 250 students in 2014.”
