Chariot Solutions announces scholars for minority entrepreneurship program

Chariot Solutions announced the first three scholars chosen for its minority and women entrepreneurship program last week.

The Fort Washington-based IT consulting firm created the Chariot Scholars Program to promote diversity in the tech scene. Scholars will be mentored by a Chariot Solutions employee and participate in a two-week training session.

This isn’t Chariot Solutions’ only connection to supporting women in technology. The firm’s Chief Marketing Officer Tracey Welson-Rossman founded TechGirlz, a nonprofit that works to instill a love of technology in young women.

The scholars are local engineers Missy Wedig, who runs the sports website A View From My Seat, Sueli Vieira, who runs web design shop Blue Square Web and Lauren DiPerna, who helped the Boston Museum of Science update its website when she was 17 and says she’s been interested in computer science ever since.
