Capital One and Modev are teaming up this week to present a digital engineering event that will offer behind the scenes looks at popular technologies through talks with their founders and a behind the scenes tour of Capital One Digital.
The event, slated to be held on Oct. 10 from 3:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. in Vienna, Va., features a trio of talks. Sarah Chipps has 15 years of software design experience and is the founder of Jewelbots and Girl Develop It!, organizations and products which are intended to inspire girls to get into coding. Since its inception Girl Develop It! has spread to 17 cities (including Washington D.C.), and has taught over 4,000 women how to build software. Jewelbots focuses on hardware products, with friendship bracelets that respond to code to light up or interact with other bracelets.
The second speaker is Peter Kugler, Lead Tools Engineer at Bungie. That’s the video game design company that is responsible for Destiny and Halo. Kungler has more than ten years of software design experience, and is currently working to make collaboration more efficient on the Destiny games.
To close it out, hear from Capital One Director of Android and iOs Engineering Luis de la Rosa.
The speakers will begin their talks on the hour, and tours will be offered of the Capital One Digital Facility on the half hour between speakers.
