Hey, entrepreneurs working in the urban-tech space: Here’s a shot at an equity-free $50,000 and membership into the ACRE incubator at the Urban Future Lab in Downtown Brooklyn. It’s NYU Tandon’s Urban Future Competition.
The competition has three tracks: smart mobility, smart cityand smart grid. Between three and five finalists will be invited to the Urban Future Lab to pitch their startup come January. Winners will also receive free office space at the incubator. Here’s who made the finals of last year’s competition.
The ACRE incubator is home to some of the most interesting startups in the country. Earlier this month, we reported that one of its companies, Project Economics, had won a $1 million prize from the federal government for its work in community solar software. One of last year’s winners of the Urban Future Competition, Fentrend, recently made the semifinals in the 43North accelerator program based upstate.
Applications will be accepted until Dec. 1.
