When Alisha Miranda lived in Brooklyn, it took a while to find her place in the tech scene.
She was a content strategist, and not a programmer, and most of the women-in-tech meetup groups she saw were geared toward women coders. But then she found #NYCtechladies, along with a few other groups, that attracted all sorts of women in tech, not just coders.
Miranda, who is, full disclosure, Technical.ly’s client success manager, wants to bring that to Philadelphia. That’s why she’s teaming up with Rad Girls cofounder (and 50onRed director of content strategy) Leah Kauffman to launch the #RadGirlsInTech meetup.
The first one is this Friday, Dec. 11 at 8 a.m. at Menagerie Coffee in Old City.

Miranda hopes it’ll bridge the gap between coders and non-coders.
We’ve heard similar things from other non-technical women in tech — that it was hard to find their place in the tech scene. This may change that.
