DelawareBio’s Michael Fleming will rep the mid-Atlantic on this national board

Michael Fleming, president of the Delaware BioScience Association, has been elected to the board of the Council of State Bioscience Associations (CSBA), representing the mid-Atlantic states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. The position is a two-year term beginning in 2022.

Fleming has been the president of Delaware Bio since 2020, after Helen Stimson left the position to become chief operating officer of Adesis.

“The CSBA is a vital catalyst for this country’s thriving, unrivaled ecosystem of bioscience innovation and I’m excited and looking forward to serving on the board,” Fleming said in a statement. “There is no region with a stronger or faster growing life science sector anywhere in the world, and I’m eager to work closely with my neighboring state colleagues to be a voice for their associations and the great companies, research institutions and universities we are all so fortunate to represent. I’m also pleased for the terrific opportunity this presents for enhancing the profile of Delaware’s flourishing bioscience community on the national stage.”

DelawareBio recently elected two new members of its own board of directors: Nikkia Squires of ChristianaCare and Dr. Alex D. Meredith of Delaware State University.
